A camp that provides participants the opportunity for growth and healing through a variety of therapeutic activities. Prepare to embark on an amazing and rewarding experience in the mountains of Siskiyou County.
Horizons Wilderness program is a camp that provides participants the opportunity for growth and healing through a variety of therapeutic activities.
Horizons provides youth ages 11-18 the opportunity to participate in all logistics of a backpacking expedition. With the help of qualified staff, the youth will be working on planning meals, planning routes, breaking down camp and participating in team building activities.
Horizons Wilderness Camp is based in Siskiyou County and takes youth on trips into the Trinity Alps, Marble Mountains and sections of the Pacific Crest Trail. In addition to backpacking, opportunities for equine therapy and one-day rafting trips are available. Horizon’s therapeutic program is beneficial for at-risk youth, but we welcome all who are interested.
Skilled professionals accompanying the youth will be licensed therapists, rehabilitation specialists and experienced outdoor educators. All leaders have been certified in wilderness first aid, CPR and several have waterfront lifeguard certification. All professional staff are employed through Remi Vista, Inc., and have undergone extensive background screenings and have many years experience working with youth.
This program is a life-changing experience for all involved and we welcome all support and generosity from the community. We are searching for any individuals or companies who are interesting in donating. You can designate a specific group you would like to sponsor, or a specific camper. By helping to fund our program, you will be contributing to the growth and stability of our youth by helping to give them the tools necessary to negotiate the trials that exist in the world. If you have any questions regarding the camp or donations, please feel free to contact us at:
